Everything looks big in Africa!
I can tell you that if you are considering hunting with Anton you are on the right track. The name of his company is truly what you will experience. He will be there with you when you hunt. I can say that having him with me allowed me to use his experience to take better trophies and not settle for what I thought were good animals. Everything looks big in Africa! I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a PH working hard with you to take the best animal possible. Matt Moore -2008 -
One of the best in the business
I have hunted for over 25 years From Alaska to Africa and everything in-between. I have seen the best of the best and worst of the worst when it comes to hunting outfitters. Anton and his crew at One-On-One Safaris are truly one of the best in the business. Everything about his operation is first class and his attention to detail leaves nothing to chance. I give Anton and One-On-One Safaris my highest recommendation and encourage everyone to book their next hunt with them. Justin Shaffer - 2012 -
My choice for another bow hunting endeavor
I had the wonderful and memorable experience of hunting with Anton le Roux on my bow hunting trip to South Africa. I can honestly say that Anton's experience, determination, desire and his honesty made the trip a grand experience for a serious bow hunter. I wanted to hunt Gemsbuk and Anton put me on a wonderful hunt where I was sucessful in taking a grand mature animal. Anton le Roux has a calm, trustworthy character that would, without doubt, make him my choice for another bow hunting endeavor in the awesome countryside of South Africa. Randy R. Mabe - 2012
One on One safaris hunts in one of the most beautiful areas of South Africa; the Waterberg. Although the region is only 2½ to 3 hours drive from Johannesburg/Pretoria, tourism has only recently discovered this beautiful destination.
The Waterberg is an area of 15,000 square km, situated about 480 km from the Indian Ocean and about 1360km from the Atlantic Ocean. It is near to the North-western border of South Africa, close to Botswana and Zimbabwe. The biggest mountain rises to 2.085 m above the sea level and the average altitude is 1.400 m.
The Waterberg is Malaria free!
This area with mountains, imposing rock formations, plateaux, valleys, many rivers and creeks and the Mokolo Dam, is part of the oldest mountains on earth and was formed approximately 2,7 billion years ago. So the Waterberg is much much older than, for example, the Alps or the Himalay!
With its 14 km length, the Mokolo Dam, a reservoir opened in 1980, is the largest dam in Limpopo and very impressive and beautiful.
Only a small town is located in the Waterberg; namely Vaalwater. The name means „pale water“.
In 2001 the „Waterberg Biosphere Reserve“ was proclaimed. This is one of 320 Biosphere Reserves registered and protected by UNESCO.
